A final difficult to digest in Copa America 2011

Uruguay and Paraguay have the last chance to save the image of Copa America because it will not be remembered for goals in football history.

After a record 86 goals in the 2007 edition of Venezuela, the appearance of the Spanish and European champions and the World and the attacking style domain imposed by Barcelona at club level, the South American tournament which was played in Argentina was regression for football, it only let 46 goals in the absence of the final, a gray suit and a champion who many considered forgettable.

"It's the worst seen in the last ten years. Worse than the Concacaf and well below the tops of Asia, Africa and Europe," said Argentine coach Cesar Luis Menotti.

"This cup is average rare. There was a low level. We expected a Brazil-Argentina in the final one, but it is rare," said former Uruguayan player Ruben Sosa, who won two Copa America with La Celeste.

Paraguay is a rare team that reached the finals without winning one of five matches, after 245 minutes without conceding a goal scorer and a dose of luck that no one on campus white and red masks. "We know we can play better. You do not tell us the whole time we played bad," said defending against attacks Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino, with injury to Roque Santa Cruz and Torres and with the sanction Jonathan Santana. If they win tomorrow from 11 meters, will be the first team ever to be champion without winning a single match!
