Carlos Tevez |
The Brazilian club Corinthians announced today in a statement to have abandoned the attempt to hire Argentine Carlos Tevez to Manchester City, who was negotiating the transfer.
"Not enough time to accomplish the transfer before the close of market on Wednesday," the club that offered 63.57 million dollars (about 44.9 million euros) to buy the 27 years Argentine.
Corinthians denied the statements by the manager of Manchester City who had said Tuesday that the two clubs had reached agreement for the transfer of Carlos Tevez.
"Manchester City did not accept the proposal of Corinthians and made a counter proposal," said the Brazilian club.
Former Manchester United star Carlos Tevez arrived at City in the 2009/2010 season where he won the FA Cup and finished the season with 21 goals, the same as his former United colleague Dimitar Berbatov.
